About Osay Khar Resort

Welcome to Osey Khar, a 25 acre farm located in the village of Tirith in Nubra.

A family run farm stay, the property includes 21 cottages discreetly situated amongst fields of wheat and barley, as well as apricot and apple trees. A network of fresh mountain streams runs through the property, truly making it a magical retreat from everyday life.

The name Osay-Khar itself comes from an Oasis found in the upper reaches of Tirith village, where an old fort is located, surrounded by mulberry trees.

Ecologically conscious resort

We have also consciously made an effort to go green, and our water and electricity requirements are met through solar powered panels. Our cottages have a traditional design and use traditional construction materials, including stone, and locally sourced wood to increase the energy efficiency of the rooms.

Being an active farm growing our own produce, most of our meals feature organic farm fresh vegetables and fruits. You can also enjoy a variety of herbal tea infusions, as well as delicious local khambir bread, made in the traditional stove each morning for all guests!

A day excursion to the more commercial side of sand dunes of Hunder and the monastery at Diskit can be organized along with a visit the quieter monastery at Samstanling and Ensa, or you could opt to enjoy a leisurely camel ride on the Sumur sand dunes.
